nornnorn Joins NSTDA Annual Conference 2026 to Champion Circular Business Models for Thailand's Net Zero Goals

Bangkok, April 29, 2026 — nornnorn's Founder and CEO, Nophol "Naps" Techaphangam, joined the "Circular Product/Business" panel discussion during the "Circular Economy as a Business Opportunity Drives Economic Growth” session of the 21st NSTDA Annual Conference (NAC2026).

The panel took place on April 28, 2026 at the Thailand Science Park, Pathum Thani, as part of NAC2026's wider programme under the overarching theme "Sustainable Economy through Science and Technology".

Hosted by Thailand's National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) from 24–28 April 2026, the annual conference brings together research and innovation from NSTDA and its partner organisations, aiming to integrate advanced scientific knowledge and innovation to raise production and service standards across Thai industry as well as to support the country's carbon neutrality goals in a concrete way. The event spans four core activity streams: academic seminars, exhibitions, research and testing lab tours, and youth science programming.

Circular Economy as a Business Opportunity Drives Economic Growth

Naps's session explored the circular and low-carbon economy as a business opportunity capable of driving national economic growth alongside sustainability — spanning policy, finance, investment, and business operations, in both the Thai and global contexts.

The session opened with a keynote on Thailand's circular carbon economy, from policy to business opportunity, before moving into segments on policy direction, financial mechanisms, and investment opportunities in the circular economy from government agencies, international organisations, and industry.

It closed with the "Circular Product/Business" panel translating this into real-world experience — covering green funding sources, circular business models, and environmental platforms and applications — aimed at showing how the circular economy can be applied in practice to create added value, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and strengthen the competitiveness of Thai businesses on the path to Net Zero.

A Panel on Circular Products/Business in Practice

Naps shared insights into nornnorn's Circular Economy Product-as-a-Service model, which allows customers to enjoy brand-new premium mattresses through a subscription system while reducing environmental impact through an end-of-life collection and recycling programme.

He was joined on the panel by Banchusa Puttapornmongkol, Deputy Managing Director of Goldstar Metal Co., Ltd.; Suntorn Suwannajet, Assistant CEO for Production and Engineering at Diamond Building Products PCL; and Natthawin Pongpetrarat, Director of TPS Garden Furniture Co., Ltd. — each sharing how circularity was being put into practice across their respective industries, from metal manufacturing to construction materials to furniture.

nornnorn's Circular Vision

nornnorn is proud to have shared our experience alongside fellow Thai businesses building circular models into their core operations — one more step toward a more sustainable, circular Thai economy.
