about us

nornnorn began with a simple idea: that comfort should be sustainable and not cost the earth.

Our roots go back nearly a century, to 1932, when two brothers from a village near Shantou, China, set up a small cotton mattress shop in Bangkok. That humble beginning grew into one of the region’s first modern mattress manufacturers and helped introduce spring and foam mattress production to Southeast Asia.

Four generations later, we’re building on that pioneering heritage — but rewriting the rules for a more sustainable world. Instead of selling mattresses, we offer comfort on subscription. Our goal is simple: to make rest renewable and comfort circular.

Our circular economy business model lets people and businesses enjoy premium mattresses and related items for an affordable monthly fee. When each subscription ends, we collect the item back, disassemble it, and recycle at least 90 percent of the components — free of charge.

For our subscribers, it’s comfort without waste or worry.

For us, it’s a way to prove that a circular economy, product-as-a-service model can be implemented at scale.

Most of what we earn goes back into developing and improving recycling processes, funding circular-design and product-recycling R&D, and expanding our service so more people and properties can rest easy and sustainably.

Along the way, we’ve been recognised for doing things differently.

We’ve received many accolades from around the world, including the Start-up Innovation Camp 2021 First Prize in the Impacting (Social Impact & Sustainability) category from Switzerland’s World Tourism Forum Lucerne and the Thailand National Innovation Award 2022 (First Prize) in the Social and Environmental Contribution (Social and Community Organisation) category from Thailand’s National Innovation Agency (NIA).

We’ve been highlighted by EU SWITCH-Asia and the ASEAN CSR Network as a Southeast Asian circular business case study (Apr 2024), featured by PwC in the Reinventing Asia Pacific – Embracing a Circular Economy for a Resilient Tomorrow report (Dec 2024), and cited by the ASEAN Secretariat in its Study on MSME Participation in the Circular Economy (May 2025).

We’ve received R&D grants from the Thai and UK governments for recycling technology development and environmental impact assessment and regularly appeared in the press as an example of scalable circular innovations.

We’ve also contributed to many international sustainability forums — including, most recently, UNDP’s Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Rights in Asia Conference (CSERA 2025), the UK Royal Academy of Engineering’s Frontiers Symposium 2025, CIMB Thai’s “Cooler Earth, Warmer Ventures” Sustainability Forum 2025, the ASEAN Circular Economy Forum 2025, and the 7th SWITCH-Asia Annual Event.

We’re based in Bangkok, incorporated in Singapore and Thailand, and a proud member of the UK Global Entrepreneur Programme, Cambridge Cleantech, SE Thailand, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and the ASEAN Circular Economy Business Alliance (ACEBA).

Our mission is simple: to make sustainability effortless and circular living second nature for everyone.

Because good rest should never go to waste.
